KORAB ELECTRIC
A brief history
For over 40 years, the principals of Korab Electric have been at the forefront of energy-efficient
retrofit installations across Canada, with a strong focus in British Columbia. Much of our work
has been completed under the guidelines of BC Hydro’s various lighting programs, ensuring
quality, efficiency, and compliance.
Whether as the primary contractor or in collaboration with other lighting specialists, Korab
Electric has consistently been the trusted name for reliable, cost-effective, and on-time
installation services. Our portfolio includes projects of every scale—from small retail locations
to major institutional and commercial sites.
Notable projects include the full retrofit of all 7-Eleven stores across British Columbia, Alberta,
and Saskatchewan—an endeavor that required detailed scheduling and coordination. We also
served as the primary contractor for national retail chains such as Payless Shoes (all stores east of
Thunder Bay, Ontario), Walmart, and Sears (Thunder Bay and Winnipeg locations).
Closer to home, our crews have contributed to high-profile lighting upgrades at Canada Place,
Simon Fraser University, and Vancouver International Airport. One of our most significant
achievements was the retrofit of the Ministry of Finance building in Ottawa. In partnership with
Ener-Lite Systems Ltd. of Abbotsford, BC, our team managed the installation of 16,995 fixtures
over five months—navigating complex logistics and security protocols while delivering
impressive energy savings.
At Korab Electric, our experienced and dedicated staff are fully equipped to handle lighting
projects of any size or complexity. We take pride in delivering dependable, high-quality results
for clients across the country.
Thank you for considering Korab Electric.
